The Red Velvet dancer and vocalist was selected for her unique sense of style, passion for her craft and creativity

Italian luxury fashion brand Salvatore Ferragamo welcomes singer, dancer and all-round talent extraordinaire, Seulgi from the K-pop girl group Red Velvet as its new global brand ambassador.

In an Instagram post, the vocalist and dancer was selected for "embodying the light-heartedness of youth...unique sense of style, passion for her craft and creativity" that reflects the same values espoused by the fashion brand. Seulgi's relationship with Ferragamo began through various collaborations during the Autumn/Winter 2020 season which continued into Spring/Summer 2021.

In campaign images accompanying the announcement, Seulgi dons shoes from the Let's Dance capsule collection. She further flaunts them in a campaign video that's filled with colours and movement—reflecting freedom, escape and liberation through dance. Seulgi moves to the rhythm with gracefully stylised choreography that melds the lightness of the shoes with the fluidity of emotion. The new Ferragamo shoe collection is airily crafted "for dancing through life", according to the caption.

The Let's Dance collection also blends art (dance) and fashion, presented through the flawless rhythm of flair and style through each gesture of the body and each refined creation. Dance is a form that represents the moving frame of mind, a liberating act, a universe language and a means of self-expression—just like fashion. Freedom of expression is the essence of this capsule collection.

The brand describes Seulgi as an instant showstopper, striking a pose in lace-up heels from the collection in one of the campaign photos. The lace-up heels are crafted in silver laminated nappa for an extra shimmering confidence in every step taken.

"I’m happy to be selected as Ferragamo’s new global ambassador. Please look forward to my future activities with Ferragamo", Seulgi said in an Instagram post alongside the campaign video.
