It was an evening of unadulterated glamour the Givenchy way as guests were granted an up-close look at the much-anticipated spring-summer 2024 collection
From Audrey Hepburn’s iconic little black dress in Breakfast at Tiffany’s to the elegant ivory gown donned by Meghan Markle on her wedding day, it’s safe to say that Givenchy has left an indelible mark on the world. And while over half a century has passed since the Maison’s founding in 1952, the legacy of monsieur Hubert de Givenchy and his timeless allure live on.
The brand’s enduring appeal was on full display at a recent private showcase hosted by Tatler Singapore at the Givenchy boutique in Paragon. The exclusive soiree was attended by a handpicked coterie of fashion insiders who were granted an up-close look at the much-anticipated spring-summer 2024 collection.
Tatler Singapore’s branded content editor and resident fashion expert Adriel Chiun helmed the event, regaling guests with his personal musings on the brand. “My personal relationship with fashion lies not with trends but with glamour and elegance—which is what Maison Givenchy does so well,” he noted. To kick things off, Chiun presented some of the key looks from this season, ranging from ready-to-wear to shoes and accessories. One standout piece: a suede bustier dress featuring an asymmetric neckline and vibrant iris purple hue.

While Givenchy's designs have traditionally embraced classic monochromatic palettes, the spring-summer 2024 collection introduces an array of captivating colours from iris purple to ice blue and flamingo pink. The butter yellow coat in silk satin duchesse, in particular, caught Chiun’s eye: “This coat shows Givenchy’s incredible craftsmanship with its shoulders-first approach to design.”

The focus then shifted to accessories. Chiun showed guests how to elevate their look with the right arm candy. His top pick? The Voyou bag with subtle hardware and a distinctly slouchy silhouette. Another favourite of our branded content editor were the Shark Lock boots; this season’s new biker-style iteration feature graphic rubber soles.
After the showcase, guests took the opportunity to explore the full collection and try on some pieces fresh off the racks, while helping themselves to canapes, Champagne and mocktails.
