The unisex GIV 1 line includes three sleek, different styles

Givenchy has unveiled the first sneaker style by creative director Matthew M Williams.

The new shoe fuses performance and luxury resulting in a sleek, unisex GIV 1 line that includes three different styles. The trio of sneakers are crafted using a mix of technical fabric, mesh, and embroidered and injected TPU details on the upper, layered together with calf leather.

Made in Italy, the GIV 1 sneakers are available in three colourways: black, off white or crocodile-embossed leather.

For those who enjoy a bolder look, the 360-degree fully transparent, lightweight soles feature a green-gold sheen or glossy black finish and are discreetly accentuated underneath by 108 injection spots.

The French luxury house’s signature four G emblem also appears on the sneaker’s side while the shoelaces come in either tone on tone or contrast with detailing on the tongue.

Williams’ predecessor Claire Waight Keller also unveiled her own sneaker design, the Jaw, back in 2019 during the fall-winter runway show for men but as part of the spring 2019 pre-collection for women. While Waight Keller’s sneaker design was reminiscent of ‘Dad’ sneakers that were trending back then, Williams’ take on the everyday footwear is more of a modern contemporary style that perfectly represents how sport meets luxury.
