The iconic shoe designer and the Indian fashion designer interview each other for the very first time

The collaboration between French luxury designer Christian Louboutin and Indian couturier Sabyasachi Mukherjee comes as no surprise given Christian's well-documented love for India. The two friends met at Sabyasachi’s Mumbai boutique by chance in July 2015, where they immediately formed a connection. As a testament to their friendship, Christian created the extraordinary shoes and exquisite handbags that walked the runway of Sabyasachi’s annual couture shows.

As a patron and enthusiast of glorious garments and quality craftsmanship, it saddened Monsieur Louboutin that all of the Sabyasachi's saris were kept hidden away in his private archive in his hometown Kolkata. So the pair decided to work on an exclusive collection that combines Louboutin’s craftsmanship with Sabyasachi’s rich textiles.
