Louis Vuitton has long established itself as a patron of the arts, specifically with its recent high-profile collaborations with renowned international artists such as Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince and Cindy Sherman.

For its latest project, the fashion powerhouse partnered with New York-based contemporary artist Jeff Koons to reimagine their classic bags like the Speedy, Keepall and Neverfull using Koons' '"Gazing Ball" paintings--interpretations of masterpieces by the likes of Edouard Manet, Claude Monet, Francois Boucher, Paul Gauguin, Nicolas Poussin (exclusive to the Paris Vendome Maison) and J.m.W Turner.

The canvas bags are turned into masterpieces themselves, with historic works of art printed on the front, a short biography of the Old Master stitched inside and Koon's reconfiguration of the Louis Vuitton Monogram to bear his initials sprinkled throughout--the first time the iconic pattern has been allowed to be reshaped.

A truly groundbreaking endeavour by Koons, the new range of bags will be available starting October 27, 2017, but in the meantime, learn a little more about the artist who has earned his place among One of the Greats. Watch the video to find out what his favourite museum is and which artist he'd like to party with.
