Celebrating the cruise 2024 collection, Louis Vuitton debuts a campaign with British actress Emma Laird

Louis Vuitton once again weaves an imaginative story filled with craftsmanship, innovation and wanderlust, with the release of the women’s cruise 2024 collection, in tandem with a dreamy campaign shot on Italy’s Isola Bella, starring British actress Emma Laird.

In her inaugural campaign for the maison, Laird emerges as an uncertain traveller to the beautiful island on Lake Maggiore, in the north of the country. As the first light of day ascends, her desire to discover awakes. Clad in an ensemble from the house’s cruise collection and accompanied by her Go-14 bag, she embarks on a journey to unlock the island’s mysteries.

She is accompanied by models Mica Argañaraz, Valentina Castro, Ida Heiner and Chu Wong, each embodying the otherworldly essence of both the collection and the island itself. The visuals revisit the aqueous reverie of Isola Bella, an idyllic backdrop where the sagas of Milan’s historic Borromeo family and watery folklore endure with undiminished potency. A castle emerges, enveloped by an endless tapestry of gardens, providing a distinctive backdrop reminiscent of the maison’s cruise show earlier this year.

The cruise 2024 collection that the campaign celebrates, hit stores globally on November 21. The season beautifully demonstrates the mastery and imagination of Nicolas Ghesquière, the French-Belgian designer who has been the women’s creative director of Louis Vuitton since 2013. Infused with baroque accents and sportswear details, his latest offering tells a tale of romance and contemporary femininity. Shimmering sequins reminiscent of scales, botanical motifs and technical materials fuse to create hybrid silhouettes, completed by reimagined accessories and signature bags.

Highlights include delicate yet bold gowns flowing with silk, organza, lace and georgette, brushed cashmere sweaters in soft pastels, and trousers finished with embroidered lace and ornate brocades. Neoprene tank suits and mermaid-scale sequin skirts add to the nautical, mermaid-like theme. For accessories, the Go-14 was reinterpreted for the cruise 2024 show, standing out by echoing the splendour of Lake Maggiore in a series of dreamy hues that adorn the signature malletage quilting.

The collection and the campaign capture the fantastical imagination of Nicolas Ghesquière and the spirit of travel that sits at the heart of the magical maison.
