See what The Wild Lot founder is buying this week—from Pangaia sweat suits to compact cameras

It’s easy to spot Elaine Chen-Fernandez in a crowd. The entrepreneur is often seen in a spectrum of hats—from the wide-brimmed to the beanie, stylish headgear is her signature. The entrepreneur is often found with her crew of friends on the steps of Shin Hing street in Sheung Wan outside her shop The Wild Lot, an experimental space that is equal parts gallery, shop and events venue. Last Christmas, her team put together a holiday market filled with festive snacks, locally produced gifts and plenty of booze.

In January, despite social restrictions putting a dampener on the new year, Chen-Fernandez hosted a Wild Food pop-up, with killer bloody marys and lobster rolls. Her pet-friendly space is a favourite among trendsetters and always feels like a backyard party. As well as creating an inclusive space for the creative community, the entrepreneur collaborates with a range of local artists and organisations driving change in the city, including local sustainable clothing, homewares and accessories brand PlantDays and mental health charity Mind Hong Kong.

We prised Chen-Fernandez away from her busy schedule to find out what she shops for in her downtime. Steal her style below:

Sweats, Pangaia

“I basically live in sweats these days—don’t we all?! My current favourite brand is Pangaia, and I love them even more now that they’ve opened up a pop-up at Lane Crawford.”

“These five-minute rescue sheets keep my skin soft and hydrated during the dry winter months.”

Watch, Rolex

“I’ve never really been into jewellery, but that’s probably for the best because I love men’s watches. The Rolex Yachtmaster is one you’ll see frequently on my wrist. It’s an easy-to-wear, pair-with-all go-to.”

Camera, Ricoh Auto-half

“This is one of the most fun point-and-shoot cameras. Not only do you get double the photos (because it only takes a half frame), but depending on the film you use, it can create some seriously cool blends and fun effects. See some photo samples here.”
