Inspired by French filmmaker Jean Cocteau, Chanel creative director Virginie Viard showcases an Elysian cruise collection at the Carrières de Lumières, in Les Baux-de-Provence.
"The simplicity, the precision and the poetry of Cocteau's film made me want to create a very clean collection, with a very distinct two-tone, made up of bright white and deep black," says Viard of the collection in a statement. And stark it was—more so compared to her previous collections of punk pink and neon-splashed ready-to-wear—this subdued, elegant lineup was filled with macramé knits (cleverly juxtaposed with rock 'n' roll fishnet stockings beloved by Viard), crop tops under tweed blazers, beaded fringe and diaphanous shirt dresses in monochrome graphics. While the collection won't hit stores until the end of the year, here are seven looks of our favourite looks to cop as you plot your post-vaccine summer holiday.

Nothing says "spring" like a knitted, midriff-baring two-piece. Remember that waist belt you wore all of last summer? Repurpose to cinch the top right under the ribcage.
