Here's a rundown of the biggest sneaker drops of the year

Unsurprisingly, Air Jordan sneakers top this year's list of holy grails with coveted colourways that keep sneakerheads on their toes. Yeezy has had its turn with Foam Runners and Wave Runners in the past, but there's a not-so-new drop in town that's raking in profits on every shoe platform.

Some honourable mentions of 2022 that didn't make it on the list are Air Jordan 1 High OG 'Taxi', Air Jordan 1 High ’85 'Georgetown', and Nike Dunk 'Panda' which restocked in full-family sizing.

But these are the top five sneakers that you need to cop before the year ends:

First off the list is—you guessed it—the Air Jordan 1 'Chicago'. Also known as 'Lost and Found', the reimagined design of the iconic 1985 AJ1 Chicago is one of the most anticipated releases ever.

Much like the OG pair, the 2022 version bears a larger Swoosh. Collectors will also love its subtly aged appearance, a nod to the AJ1 Chicago's weathered look. Even the mismatched box of the shoes gives it a vintage feel.

Though Off-White founder Virgil Abloh passed, his legacy lives on. Months after, many of his unreleased designs began to float around social media including the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Low 'Green', especially when a Brooklyn Museum staff was spotted wearing a pair during the opening of "Virgil Abloh: Figures of Speech" exhibition.

The light green sneakers are embellished with a metallic silver Swoosh, green zip tie, and exposed foam tongues.

Apart from its timeless design, the hype around the A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 4 mainly comes from the story behind it. The sneakers are inspired by the Black and Brown leaders of the world.

The A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 4 has Violet Ore and vintage cream tones that mesh well with its metallic pins and quilted interior.

Air Jordan 4 Retro 'Black Canvas' features traditional AJ4 details like the black TPU moulded wings and a Nike Air unit in the heel.

It has a wearable colourway with subtle suede detail on the toe piece. The pitch-black palette of this design complements the lighter accents, making it a great shoe to wear all year round.
