Tatler showcased the most fashionable individuals from Hong Kong on the recently revealed Asia's Most Influential: Style list, and we spoke to Ryan Sun to get the lowdown on his favourite streetwear
Ryan Sun has been collecting sneakers and other streetwear for more than 20 years—a passion he has passed on to his daughter, six-year-old Makayla, who arrived at our photoshoot wearing Dior sneakers that matched a pair owned by her father.
Sun, who is director of business development for Fotomax, says his favourite brands are Supreme, Off-White and A Bathing Ape, of which Makayla is well aware. When our stylist pulls an A Bathing Ape jacket off the rack for Sun to try on, Makayla spots the monkey logo and says, “Baba will choose that one.”
1. How would you describe your personal style?
I consider my style as hip-hop style rather than street style. I love wearing my baggy T-shirts with baggy jeans, though since I've become a father my trousers are not as baggy as they were.

3. What is your favourite fashion memory and why?
My first A Bathing Ape T-shirt I bought by queuing up in Japan back in the day. Years later, I was invited to their Ferrari x Bathing Ape crossover shop. It was my first BAPE show. I met lots of cool people.
4. What is an item in your closet that holds a lot of sentimental value?
All of my Supreme x Louis Vuitton items.

5. What is the most unusual item in your closet?
My high-school uniform.
6. What is a fashion faux pas you’ve committed that still makes you cringe?
Wearing coloured boxers under white trousers.
7. What’s something you wish you could change about the fashion world?
I don’t think I have the right to wish to change something about the fashion world ... Fashion changes every season. Who knows how it will change next?

8. What’s something you would never wear?
I never wear anything too tight.
9. There’s a fire and you can only save one item in your closet—which would be it?
Supreme x LV, I guess. But really I should just leave it and buy it again.
10. What’s an item on your wish list right now?
At this moment it's a Chanel X Bearbrick.
