Tatler showcased the most fashionable individuals from Hong Kong on the recently revealed Asia's Most Influential: Style list, and we spoke to Mira Yeh about her long-term love for glamour and her new interest in athleisure
Patron of the performing arts Mira Yeh, who is a long-term supporter of the Hong Kong Ballet and currently sits on its executive board, has been hailed for her style in the pages of Tatler since the late Nineties. She is most often photographed at balls in glamorous gowns, such as these outfits from her own wardrobe, and owns more than 300 pairs of shoes and a selection of unique handbags, including a customised Birkin.
A personal favourite is a bejewelled Judith Lieber clutch, featuring a drawing Yeh’s daughter did at school remade in crystals. During the pandemic, Yeh has spent more time in athleisure than evening wear, though even her sports clothes are designer—she loves Nike’s collaboration with Dior.
1. How would you describe your personal style?
I would refer to my personal style as a journey I am experiencing in life. I like to dress in an elegant style in general but, after Covid, I've changed to wearing more athleisure to keep up with my active lifestyle.
2. What’s a fashion Instagram account that you are currently obsessed with?
I am obsessed with a lot of accounts, from Anna Della Russo, mvb, lefevrediary, Hailey Bieber to coco_pinkprincess.
3. What is your favourite fashion memory and why?
Fendi’s fashion show at Great Wall of China in 2007. I climbed the stairs of the Great Wall in my 6-inch Louboutin. I still wonder how I did that!

4. What is an item in your closet that holds a lot of sentimental value to you?
My late mom’s wedding ring.

Wearing a white bra under a dress and getting caught in a flash camera.
7. What’s something you wish you could change about the fashion world?
A more simplified two collections per year from fashion brands with limited cross brand collaboration capsule collections in between. Nurturing more young and new talents in sustainable fashion.
