The Israeli designer, who has been the Artistic Director of the Parisian fashion house for 14 years, steps down

Nothing lasts forever, even in the fashion industry. After Raf Simon’s sudden announcement last week that he’s leaving Dior, it’s Alber Elbaz’s turn to shock us with the news that he will be stepping down as Lanvin’s Artistic Director after 14 fruitful years.

In a statement released by his camp, he said, “I wish to express my gratitude and warm thoughts to all those who have worked with me passionately on the revival of Lanvin over the last 14 years; express my affection to all my wonderful colleagues in the Lanvin ateliers who accompanied me, and who enriched and supported my work.” He also expressed his gratitude to the  clients, press and friends for the strong support he has received in his career.

Lanvin’s representative also released a statement thanking Elbaz for his wonderful contribution to the fashion house.
