One of Malaysian designer Khoon Hooi's gowns was spotted on the red carpet at the first major show of the Hollywood awards season

A dress designed by Khoon Hooi was spotted on the red carpet of the Golden Globes 2020 last night. Actress Karen Pittman, who appeared in the nominated series The Morning Show which also stars Jennifer Aniston, chose a strapless pink tiered gown embellished with feathers for the main red carpet event. Earlier that weekend, Ginnifer Goodwin, best known for her role as Snow White in the hit series Once Upon A Time, was spotted in another Khoon Hooi's creation, a navy and orange asymmetrical frock.

Khoon Hooi was naturally delighted by this. "I'm grateful and proud for what my team has accomplished," he said. "We were in the midst of preparing for fall 2020 when we wondered how we could do to better showcase our collection." And there's nothing bigger than going to Hollywood.

A search for a reliable PR partner in Los Angeles ensued. "It was important to me to promote the brand as elegant evening wear for a huge occasion like the Golden Globes. As they say, go big or go home!"

He noted that both dresses were part of the spring 2019 collection. "The team and I started the process, from concept and design to pattern making and cutting, back in March 2018, and the collection was even showcased to our global stockists during Paris Fashion Week 2018," said Khoon Hooi.
