Make way for Bella as she takes the fashion world by storm!
Watch out, world, here comes Superwoman! The fashion industry have shed major spotlight for Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, who recently got named Model of the Year by the British Fashion Awards and People’s Model of the Year by Models.com, respectively. Nevertheless, Bella Hadid went home with the Model of the Year award after the industry’s vote for her through Models.com. Now, let’s give her the spotlight and consider why she deserves the accolade!
The Old Hollywood Glamour
No stranger to the fashion industry, modeling is as much in Bella’s genes as dolphins are mammals of the sea. Mother Yolanda and sister Gigi probably taught her few tricks of the trade in the harsh industry. Even as she soars on the runway, people can’t help but compare her to Gigi, her equally amazing sister. But guess what? Neither is better than the other. Gigi does seem like the bubbly ray of sunshine, but the younger Hadid oozes that old Hollywood glamour that we oh! So adore.
The Superwoman
If you follow her on Snapchat then you’d probably know that Bella doesn’t have it easy. She juggles the demanding world of high fashion and her Lyme disease interchangeably. Pump blood in the morning? Check. Walk seemingly endless runways under the scrutiny of millions of eyes? Check. If she’s not model of this year, we don’t know who is.
The Rising Star
There are many reasons why 2016 is Bella’s year: she opened for Fendi’s Milan Fashion Week Show, she landed the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and she was named the face of Dior beauty, to mention a few. Last year, big sister Gigi might have been named the British Fashion Awards’ Model of the Year and Kendall named the Reader’s Model of the Year, but the brunette belle, who didn’t even make the list last year, certainly deserves the title today!
The Social Girl
What’s more to love than a transparent celebrity? Similar to Kendall’s own sister, Kylie Jenner, Bella also embraces the limelight perhaps even more than Gigi does. She doesn’t leave her Instagram account unattended, nor does she forget to update her Snapchat story. It’s safe to say she knows how to use the social media to her advantage and for a girl who can strike a pose; we don’t mind getting spammed with her pictures.
The One Who Got Away
And last but not least, let’s admit it, who could have walked away from an ex better than the enigmatic model? Bella Hadid split with musician boyfriend, The Weeknd, in November 2016 after two years together. The two first met when the Grammy winner asked her to model for the artwork of his album ‘Beauty Behind the Madness’ back in April 2015. The reason behind their split is none other than busy schedules.
