You don’t need to have seen The Matrix to recognise the looks made so popular by the film: Long leather trench coats and tiny sunglasses, both in black, were worn by Neo (Keanu Reeves), Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) and Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) during the pivotal scenes of the movie.

This look is being revived in the latest film, The Matrix Resurrections, and the sweeping coats paired with slick hairdos and leather boots continue to exude that early-aughts-digital-dystopia feel.
