The Ocean

Vibe: Beachside Bliss

Unhindered sea views are part of the appeal at The Ocean—as is the sheer size of the space. The restaurant is spread over 10,000sqft at The Pulse and it looks directly onto Repulse Bay Beach and the South China Sea. The restaurant interiors are all about celebrating the beautiful vistas in Hong Kong , along with the stunning harbour views. A curving ceiling resembles the ocean, morphing from deep blues to sandy tones as it approaches the floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the beach and beyond. Bubble-like lights hang above the coral reef-inspired booths.

With walls made up of aquariums filled with floating jellyfish, The Ocean is one to go for if you’re looking to add a wow factor to your private party. With a focus on seafood, its chefs—Agustin Balbi is the executive chef and Yukio Kimijima is the Japanese sushi chef—can create whole menus for special occasions, along with wine pairings, bespoke cocktails and even customised cupcakes. Creations such as marinated scallops with sea snails, green papaya and “Asian essence”, all exquisitely presented, are sure to impress. 

The restaurant has three private rooms—two of them accommodate up to eight people each; the third can seat 12 guests. 

Fish & Meat

Vibe: Urban Rustic

Located on Wyndham Street, Fish & Meat has a rustic French feel, with plenty of raw wood, concrete floors and mesh lanterns to give the space the look of a charming country home that’s in line with the fresh seafood, meat and homemade pasta served up by head chef Russell Doctrove. The menu is divided into small and large plates—guests can start with items like burrata with grilled peaches, basil vinaigrette and vine tomatoes; or duck egg raviolo with ricotta cream, burnt sage butter and pecorino cheese, before digging into main courses such as the French monkfish with cauliflower puree, capers, lemon thyme and spinach.

Fish & Meat has two private dining rooms that can each accommodate eight to 10 people, or a total of 16 to 20 if you combine them. The restaurant also features a bar area and a terrace, which is a great spot for partygoers to spill out onto as they enjoy an arrival cocktail.

Make sure you try out the restaurant's cocktails, with highlights such as The Southern that is made from rye whisky, vanilla-infused cognac, chamomile and lavender-infused honey, peach bitters and lemon juice. The in-house mixologist can even create original cocktails for special events—a great option for the bridal party looking for that special, signature touch to the night. 

Hutong

Vibe: Harbourside glamour

Hutong offers the glamour of the harbour in a unique setting that will appeal to out-of-towners. Located on the 28th floor of the One Peking building in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hutong boasts stunning views of Hong Kong Island and Victoria Harbour. It serves up flavourful, heady Northern Chinese fare such as fish cooked in a Sichuan chilli pepper broth and lamb-and-scallion dumplings, in a setting inspired by this region and its charming hutongs, or alleyways. The Chinese antiques, metal-studded wooden doors, red lanterns and silk curtains are sure to impress overseas guests.

There is also plenty of choice when it comes to how you use the space, too. There is room enough to host a large-scale dinner and if you want to do something smaller, there are three dining rooms that can be interconnected or kept as they are, allowing you to host a party for 12 or for 48.

Set menus are available—including free-flow wine and other beverages—but not obligatory. Hutong is also open to creating menus specially for the occasion.
