1. Dana Harel

One of several Israeli bridal designers to make their way onto the international stage, Dana Harel has become synonymous with delicately constructed column gowns made with intricate details. Silhouettes are often kept clean and simple to let the hand-sewn details shine, whether it’s unconventionally shaped floral appliqués or Swarovski crystal beads. Many of the ethereal pieces would be perfect for a glitzy after-wedding party.

2. Carolina Herrera

For Wes Gordon’s debut bridal collection for Carolina Herrera as creative director, the designer stays true to the minimalist aesthetic of the house, creating clean shapes with an unexpected touch in the form of a blue ribbon trailing down the back or tiny embroidered roses sprinkled on the front. Inspired by Katharine Hepburn, the gowns, like the silver screen heroine, are classic with a modern twist.

After creating a bespoke halter gown for the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle’s reception dinner look in May last year, the designer launched her first bridal collection five months later in November. The 17-piece "Made with Love" capsule reflects McCartney’s signature aesthetic with sleek silhouettes, delicate lace embroidery, a crisp tuxedo and a smart jumpsuit befitting a modern princess—all crafted with sustainable materials, of course.

New on the scene is Los Angeles-based designer, Sébastien Luke, who has only been creating bridal wear for about two years. In that time, he has been lauded for his flirty twist on casual silhouettes such as his signature wedding-ready jumpsuits made with a ruffled train or hooded tulle veil. The casual touch makes his pieces perfect for the bride who wants a ceremonial gown she can also rock at the after-party.

Continuing to shine in its mastery of couture, Viktor & Rolf’s spring/summer 2019 collection is laden with gorgeous details. Voluptuous tiers of laser-cut ruffles and 3D lilies hand-stitched to tulle columns make for dramatic, avant-garde yet wearable gowns.

There are some jumpsuits typical of past seasons but there is also the welcome addition of sculptural mini-dresses in flattering trapeze shapes perfect for the city‑hall bride. Available at Belle & Tulle Bridal in Singapore.
