All the guests seem to be leading similar lives, juggling time between caring for their kids, running their businesses remotely, and attending to matters of the house. Entrepreneur Audrey Pastelero also cited quality time as one of her love languages, sharing how she tries to split her time between her three sons and husband. When Nicole asked if she still has time for herself, Audrey confidently replied, “Absolutely! I have nothing to give them if I don’t take care of myself. Because if I don’t feel good and look good, I won’t be able to really give them that much love. You have to love yourself first to have love to give, right?”

As the saying goes: you can’t pour from an empty cup. Founder of The Forewoman Jet Acuzar also reiterated the importance of self-care. “Everybody is a stay-at-home parent right now, even if you have a full-time job. So it’s these little gifts that you can give yourself that make a huge difference. Your skincare routine, whether it’s a maximal or minimal routine, gives you time for yourself.”

Best of friends Audrey and Jet revealed they couldn’t be more dissimilar in their skincare routines. Audrey abides by a 10-step routine every night and uses a range of products for her skin. Some of her favourites include the Clarins Double Serum, the Neal’s Yard Remedies Mother’s Balm, and the La Mer sunscreen. Meanwhile, Jet prefers a more laid-back routine. “I just use the La Mer Crème de la Mer or the Augustinus Bader cream, and then nothing else. I believe in having as minimal products as possible on my skin and I believe in ‘saviour’ products,” Jet shared, naming La Mer, La Prairie, Mario Badescu, and Murad as some of her most beloved brands.

For Cat, keeping it simple on her skin also seems like the way to go. “I used to do so many also before, and now I switched to a 3-step system of Clinique. Basically, you just wash your face, clarify it, and then you just moisturize. It’s so easy,” she said, adding that her husband Carlo also liked to use the same products as her.

Giving gifts seemed to be another common love language among all guests, and indeed, the essence of a gift is in the thought put into it. “Because Rustan’s makes it so easy to shop, every time I find a nice lipstick shade, I buy several already and give that away because everyone’s always on Zoom, so you can’t go wrong with a nice shade of lipstick,” Cat said about her go-to present.

For Audrey, it’s either a plant or a candle to spruce up one’s home. “It’s something that will brighten up their house or remind them of you,” she shared. “I love Diptyque. My favourite scent is Baies, and I love giving that to people because I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like this scent.” Self-confessed ‘candle fiend’ Jet also remarked that candles were foolproof gifts. “It’s sensory. When you give someone a candle, they don’t enjoy it themselves. Their entire household sort of gets gifted this. And it’s like the whole house smells so beautiful and it instantly puts you in a great mood,” she relayed.
