With a rebrand, new product partnership, and regional expansion on the horizon, Singapore’s first professional body-sugaring (hair removal) studio enters a bold new phase.
Now in its eighth year, Sugar(ed) is marking a significant milestone with a refreshed identity and ambitions that extend well beyond its Singaporean roots. The pioneering studio—known for introducing professional body sugaring to Singapore—has revealed a new look, complete with updated branding and a redesigned website, that signals its plans to take this gentle and all-natural hair removal technique to the rest of Southeast Asia.

Founded by Jasmine Yong, a former Singapore Airlines stewardess turned entrepreneur, Sugar(ed) was born out of a personal discovery of sugaring during her time in the US. Enthralled by the technique’s use of natural, water-soluble sugar paste, she pursued professional training in Los Angeles before establishing Sugar(ed) in Singapore. What started as a home-based business has grown into four studios across the island—including locations in Bukit Timah, Katong, River Valley, and Upper Thomson.
The latest evolution of the brand comes with the announcement of an exclusive product partnership with Tamara’s Sugar, a US-based leader in organic sugaring products. As Southeast Asia’s official distributor, Sugar(ed) will now offer these non-GMO, vegan, and cruelty-free products to professionals in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines—opening the door to a broader audience seeking a more sustainable and skin-friendly alternative to waxing.

“With Tamara’s Sugar as our new product partner, we reaffirm our commitment to natural, sustainable, and fair practices,” Yong shares. Sugar(ed)’s curated selection of products sourced from Tamara’s Sugar includes a bamboo enzyme exfoliator, exfoliating pads formulated with natural salicylic acid, and a post-treatment soothing oil tailored for Singapore’s climate.
While these products enhance the customer experience, the cornerstone of the studio’s services remains the sugaring paste—made from certified organic and fair-trade sugar, and used exclusively in all treatments. “Our goal is for Sugar(ed) to be the go-to destination for sugaring that promotes a more sustainable lifestyle,” she continues.

In tandem with its product expansion, Sugar(ed) is also investing in education. The brand has partnered with Savvy Certification, an online training provider accredited by CIDESCO (the world standard for beauty and spa therapy), to offer professional certification in sugaring techniques and hygiene standards. With Yong herself certified as a sugaring educator, the studio is well-positioned to train a new generation of practitioners across the region.
Although the aesthetics of hair removal have evolved—with a growing market for laser and tech-driven treatments—Sugar(ed) remains committed to the timeless technique of sugaring. Its appeal lies not only in its efficacy but also in its compatibility with sensitive skin, its gentler application method, and its roots in centuries-old beauty rituals.
