What is your skin type?

Sensitive with a tendency to be dry.

Who or what influenced your skincare routine?

I do quite a bit of research online to understand the latest available products in the beauty industry that would suit my skin and lifestyle. I also go to Belo and seek advice from my dermatologist there.

How did you find a skincare routine that works for you?

I kept my routine fairly simple and only added new products one at a time so that I could assess what works for me immediately.

What is your evening skincare routine?

I am currently expecting, so my skincare has changed because I try my best to stick to clean products that are not harsh for me and safe for my baby. I excluded all retinol products.

I cleanse my face with ZO Zein Obagi facial cleanser for sensitive skin. I follow with glycolic acid from The Ordinary on days [when] my skin is not too sensitive. I then use The Ordinary Niacinamide Serum followed by Biossance Squalane Cream which moisturizes beautifully. I finish off with a skin oil with tea tree extract from Biossance and [use] gua sha on my entire face. I started gua sha this year and find it effective and calming.

What are your holy grail products?

ZO Zein Obagi recovery cream found in Belo (I use this when I am not expecting or breastfeeding), Fillmed eye cream, Biossance face oil with tea tree extract and green quartz gua sha.

What is a skincare hack you think we should know?

I use ice-cold tools on my eyes and face in the morning; this helps calm the skin, reduce puffiness and energises me.

Do you use facemasks?

Yes! Charlotte Tilbury goddess clay mask and SKII Facial treatment mask.

Do you have a beauty/skincare horror story?

When experimenting with face oils, I once used one that didn’t work for me and it caused a bad break out.

How often do you practise skin fasting (a break from skincare)?

Because of my pregnancy, I have had to avoid harsh products and treatments. So I suppose I am doing the skin fasting now!
