SK-II revealed a new scientific discovery at a special event last Friday, with its newest face Tang Wei in attendance

SK-II held a unique event last Friday to celebrate its future of miracle transformations, unveiling not only a new scientific discovery, but also a new brand ambassador - Chinese actress, Tang Wei. "Our scientists have uncovered a new approach to skin - the miracle of Bio-Shift. We're taking the latest skin discussion much beyond genes, ageing and DNA. We have found that our miracle ingredient, Pitera, can shift the biology of your skin to crystal clarity," said Samuel Kim, vice president ASEAN and Asia Development Markets, Procter & Gamble Asia, at the launch.
Bio-Shift is a revolutionary approach towards diagnosing and addressing skin concerns, and is a holistic concept that works on a micro level to improve skin across five key dimensions critical to crystal clear skin. What are these five key dimensions? It all begins with SK-II's Crystal Clear Skin Model - based on the results of a longitudinal study spanning a decade, SK-II has defined the characteristics of what crystal clear skin is at any age. From there, they developed the Crystal Clear Skin Model, which shows that the five key dimensions of texture, radiance, firmness, spot control and wrinkle resilience need to be at their optimal level before true crystal clarity can be achieved. The latest celebrity face chosen to front the brand is Tang Wei, who has been using SK-II for the past year and now swears by its wildly popular Facial Treatment Essence. Speaking to the crowd with ladylike poise, she shared her experience using SK-II and divulged some surprising truths. "I'm not very feminine in the sense that I'm not someone who knows how to really take care of her skin. I was quite the tomboy, and sometimes I think I should've been born a boy, not a girl," she said candidly in Mandarin. "I used to not like looking in the mirror, but after using SK-II for half a year, I noticed my skin started to change and look brighter, and I started to actually like looking in the mirror."
