Copper shades

What better way to channel those cosy autumn vibes than to spice up your boring dark hair colour with copper shades? According to Kristy, Master Stylist at Love Hair, “As fall quickly approaches, we’ve been seeing more clients asking for hair colours that match the changing leaves, such as coppery hues”.

The key is to pick a shade that flatters your skin tone (and undertone): fair-skinned beauties will look best with warm, shimmery copper hues such as golden copper and rose gold, while those with dark or cool skin tone can opt for copper shades with hints of violet or ruby for a statement-making look.

Face-framing styles

Face-framing styles are back and the trend isn’t going anywhere soon, as predicted by Ellen, Creative Senior Stylist at Love Hair. “As we step into the cooler season, people can finally let their hair down again and experiment with face-framing layers. It’s a great option for those who want a stylish upgrade without losing any length.”

This cut has been going strong for a while due to its ease and versatility, which works with all face shapes and hair textures. Adding heavy bangs or fringe will help balance a wide forehand, and if you wanted to go the sleek route, ask your colourist to focus on your face-framing strands. To achieve a glam look for a holiday party, simply pull your hair back into a high ponytail or an updo, then leave a few strands loose to outline your beautiful facial features.

Your sweater and coats aren’t the only things to keep you toasty this fall. Here, Natasha, Creative Senior Stylist at Love Hair demonstrates a textured lob hairstyle with warm pastel pink sombré highlights that is sure to brighten up your complexion during the dreary days of winter.

“The shoulder-skimming lob has been trending since last year and it’s making a comeback with new twists this fall,” Natasha says. People are embracing mid-length layers as the style doesn’t require much maintenance, which is easy to style and incredibly versatile that looks great with blunt bangs, side-sweeping fringe or warm colour choices. If you’re feeling adventurous, add in prominent pastel pink highlights to make your hair look more voluminous. For those with long face shapes or angular facial contours, soften the angles with curls—it’s really that simple.

Chin-length bob

Bob haircuts seem to be on everybody’s wish list now and it’s not difficult to see why—who doesn’t want to solve that problem with long hair caught in the scarf and pullover sweater? The bob length for fall/winter 2020 will stop right at the chin, resulting in a clean hairstyle that feels refreshing, modern and a little bit sexy.

“This is a new boyish trend in hair that I love for clients who are eager to try for a dramatic change,” says Roland Boutin, Co-Founder of Bruneblonde. “Avoid any severe layering and simply let the shape to accentuate the outline of your neck, jaw and shoulders for a powerful, classy look.”

Remember those ‘90s supermodel hair that made famous by our style icon Cindy Crawford? It’s back. “Voluminous, bouncy hair is one of the latest hairstyle trends that’s flooding our Instagram feeds and runway,” says Boutin. To recreate the look, grab a volumising spray to dry hair and blow dry with a bristle brush. You can also use a tong to curl your hair in large sections to elevate the volume and accentuate the waves around the face. This style is so easy to pull off and looks good on essentially anyone as long as it’s done right.

Blonde is staple fashion statement for hairstyle trend during fall and this year will be no exception. “Blonde is timeless but expect to see more cool, creamy blonde hues as autumn sets in,” says Alistair Rae, Creative Director at Bruneblonde. Pair these stunning blonde hues with loose romantic waves to maximise your feminine appeal. And if you want to take your blonde look from daytime stylish to nighttime elegant, simple braids will do the trick, suggests Rae.
