Nidhi Sunil is the first Indian model appointed to a global ambassadorship for beauty behemoth L'Oreal. Sunil grew up in Kerala and was educated as a lawyer, practicing environmental law post-graduation, before venturing into the world of fashion and film, where she made her acting debut in Gangoobai in 2013, and later starred in Kaash (2015). As a model, she has fronted campaigns for Garnier and The Gap and has appeared in the pages of Italian Vogue and GQ.

"From lawyer to model, actress to activist, Nidhi uses her energy to speak out against colorism and gendercide and to campaign for girls to be as valued as much as boys, L'Oreal Global Brand President Delphine Viguier-Hovasse said in a statement.

In addition to her work in front of the camera, Sunil works for good behind the scenes as an advisory board member of the Invisible Girl Project, an organisation dedicated to ending female gendercide in India.

"I am on the advisory board for an organization called the Invisible Girl Project and I've been working with them for the last two years," Sunil told Paper Magazine last year. "We have 450 girls. All of the girls are essentially abandoned by their families because in India it's very hard for people from lower economic backgrounds to take on the financial obligations of having a girl child... So what happens in India a lot—millions of girls are trafficked and millions of girls are abandoned by their families. And a lot of them actually are killed when they're infants... This year we were selected to present at the UN CSW because we're doing a lot of work around infrastructure for women in India."
