Scent, memory, and nostalgia came together at an exclusive soirée hosted by Tatler Singapore—celebrating the maison’s newest fragrance and the enduring magic of childhood joy
There’s a particular kind of magic in the memories of youth: the carefree laughter, spontaneous adventures, and the sweet mischief that once coloured our days. As we grow older, we find ourselves longing for that lost innocence, for the simple joy of being unapologetically present.
It is this sense of nostalgia that lies at the heart of Kurky, the latest creation by Maison Francis Kurkdjian. Designed to evoke the whimsy and wonder of childhood, the fragrance was recently unveiled at an exclusive soirée hosted by Tatler Singapore in collaboration with the fragrance house.
Kurky—the whimsical new scent that Francis Kurkdjian affectionately describes as “the perfume of grown-ups who dare to dream like kids”—was unveiled at Twenty Eight Café on Wilkie Road. There, fruity notes reminiscent of tutti frutti candies filled the air, instantly transporting guests to the carefree joys of childhood. The café itself was transformed into a sunlit gallery, awash in coral pink and sky-blue hues, with curated displays that paid homage to Kurkdjian’s past olfactory creations.
As guests wandered through the gallery, they were brought on an immersive journey that celebrated the artistry of Maison Francis Kurkdjian. Although Kurky was the star of this unveiling, loyal fans of the brand were also invited to rediscover a curated selection of the Maison’s beloved classics—À la Rose, Oud, Petit Matin, Grand Soir, Pluriel, and Baccarat Rouge 540—each one a testament to Kurkdjian’s olfactory poetry.

The experience continued with a whimsical photobooth, inviting guests to capture lighthearted moments and leave with a lasting keepsake to take home. Nearby, a playful doodle wall sparked creativity and connection, encouraging guests to leave their mark amidst the vibrant setting. With thoughtful prompts like “Sketch a scene from your favourite childhood game” and “Illustrate a family tradition you cherished growing up,” the wall was quickly filled with amusing yet heartfelt doodles depicting guests’ treasured memories.

As an added treat, guests enjoyed a delicious spread of canapés such as avocado crostini, crème brûlée, fruit tarts, and buttermilk pancakes—each dish designed to further stimulate their senses. Staying true to the fruity theme of the afternoon were the selection of refreshing beverages such as the Sunset Mirage and Minty Oasis—adding a refreshing finish to the afternoon's festivities.
