It’s this intrinsic Swissness and deep heritage that the brand hopes to share with Hong Kong as it opens its La Prairie House—bringing calmness to a place known for its cacophony of sounds, masses of people and crowded, colourful streets. Reserved for select clients and editors to learn more about La Prairie’s rich history, its products and services through exclusive events and occasions, the House reflects the DNA of the brand, an epitome of Swiss precision and excellence.

On entering, guests are greeted by a gallery-style installation in the foyer, which outlines the brand’s heritage from its origins at La Prairie Clinic in Montreux, Switzerland—where Dr. Paul Niehans was a pioneer in anti-aging cellular therapy in 1931.

Floor-to-ceiling windows let in oodles of light to the white-washed Salon, an elegant sanctuary with low sofas and vases of flowers, that acts as the principal reception space. It takes its cues from contemporary Swiss architecture by blurring the lines between the inside and outside, urban and nature. Designed by La Prairie’s Chief Architect Stana Pijunovic, the style is “at once raw and refined, deceptively simple in its execution, physically intense yet always in poetic balance,” she says.

“We have conceived a place where time seems to stand still, a place of sublime beauty that recalls the brand’s quintessential Swissness,” adds Prodromides. “The La Prairie House is the manifestation of that place.” It also furthers La Prairie’s efforts to support the arts, which it has done year upon year through collaborations with Art Basel in Hong Kong. In the Salon, a display will exhibit changing artworks from their contemporary art collection to ensure that each visit becomes a new artistic experience.

At every level, La Prairie House endeavours to embody the Swissness at the heart of the skincare brand, from impeccable style and refinement to the purity, precision and innovation at the core of every treatment. At the new residence, the hope is that guests will come one step closer to understanding the origins of the brand.
