It all began over 50 years ago when Dr Max Huber, a German aerospace physicist, embarked on a healing quest after suffering burns in a lab accident. Back in July, Tatler Singapore was given the exclusive opportunity to get a first look and feel of this new serum as part of a special programme hosted by La Mer during the 25th World Congress of Dermatology (WCD) held in Singapore. The regional three-day event saw stars and friends of La Mer such as Tatler Asia's Most Stylish 2023 honouree Willabelle Ong, lifestyle influencer Irene Kim, K-pop star Jessica Jung and more in attendance.
The Lifting Firming Serum was revealed on the last day of the programme—under strict embargo—after a quick group Pilates session at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Tatler Singapore was one of only two local media titles to have witnessed the secret unveiling—making the experience all the more special.

During the exclusive preview luncheon, two doctors were on hand to share more about the dynamics of visible aging. First, cosmetic surgeon Dr Hooman Khorasani shared his extensive knowledge on the facial zones that have the greatest effect on maintaining the face’s V shape—a key component of a youthful look. La Mer’s own Dr Rocio Rivera then followed up by introducing the new Lifting Firming Serum. Available in two sizes (1 oz or 0.5 oz), the serum is elegantly packaged in La Mer’s signature silver and green bottle that comes with a pump.

Powered by visible youth-regenerating Miracle Broth and a new Restructuring Ferment, this targeted serum helps refine and sculpt the look of the upper and lower areas of the face for youthful balance, and visibly transforms six key structural zones: the forehead, brow, cheeks, nasolabial folds, jawline and neck for a powerfully lifted look.
Taking inspiration from the ocean’s extraordinary memory—where waves continuously recreate its dynamic structure while preserving its original fluid form—La Mer’s Max Hubuer Research Labs revisited its legendary Miracle Broth as it started to explore further. This ingredient helps to invigorate the skin with essential energy and support natural mechanisms that fuels the skin’s ageless renewal.
As such, this youth-regenerating elixir works in synergy with firming actives within the new Lifting Firming Serum to offer users an uplifted look that enhances rejuvenation.
How does it work?
The serum consists of a new restructuring ferment, which means that at the macro level, it is infused with a potent ferment to firm the feel of skin. For micro-plumping, and improved feel of bounce, densification, and volume, it’s paired with algae and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate within skin’s surface. Additionally, this potent ferment helps support collagen and fill skin with plumping hydration to enhance facial contours.

Collaboration plays an important part in La Mer’s research process. The brand worked closely with dermatologists and plastic surgeons throughout its developmental journey, examining facial structure, conceptualised as a ‘V’ shape known as the ‘Triangle of Youth’.
With age, this triangular shape inverts. The Lifting Firming Serum targets the essential youthful facial characteristics that are attributed to the change, supporting a youthful look: more defined contours, ample cheek volume, and a well-defined jawline.
