**We have updated our list of the best barber shops in Hong Kong for 2020**

The relationship between a man and his barber is sacred. Since ancient times, barbers have been respected members of the community: in the Middle Ages barbers doubled as doctors and dentists, and their parlours were often a space for intellectual debate in the 19th and 20th century. When the craft was standardised in the 1920s with formal colleges, the modern barbershop culture was born. Recent years have seen a revival of the traditional methods, bringing back the grooming techniques of yore.

The Duke’s

The Duke's barber shop provides something a little different than your standard hair cut. The three-floor barber-meets-bar-meets-arcade is a man cave of boy's toys, cigar lounges and grooming salons. Enjoy a hot shave, catch the latest sport on the TV, enjoy a cigar with other like-minded men and kick back with a whisky… all in one place. It’s the Hong Kong man haven you’ve been dreaming about.

Fox and The Barber

The new kid on the barber-block, Fox and The Barber is pretty quirky – except for its attitude to traditional, quality shaving and hair styling. Rather unusually run by a woman, owner and head barber Sarah McGlynn heads up a team of highly-skilled and detail-orientated barbers who take great pride in giving you a fresh chop in a chilled-out, stylish barber boutique.
