An easy-to-do beauty primer on looking your best for the holiday season with Armani Beauty
The year-end holiday season is upon us, and it’s time to whip out your party dress and live it up. We turn to Giorgio Armani international make-up artist Linda Cantello, who gives us a short tutorial on how you can recreate these powerful and enigmatic make-up looks on your own.
Did you know that Cantello was the original inventor of the smoky eye? According to her, a smoky eye should be sensual, emphasising the eyes without any definable lines. And it doesn't have to be in black, so for both looks featured here, she uses shades of shimmery gold and taupe to amp up that seasonal holiday vibe.

Step 1: Face
Extract two pumps of the Luminous Silk Foundation in #5 onto the back of the hand. Using the Armani blender brush, apply the foundation from the centre of the face and blend outwards towards the neck and the hairline, to even and unify the skin.
Step 2: Concealer
Apply two dots of the Luminous Silk Concealer in #5 under each eye and blend using fingertips, with a dabbing technique.
Step 3: Eyes
Using the eye tint applicator, apply one layer of Eye Tint shade #10 (Senso) all over the eyelid and blend the edges using fingertips or a blender brush. Using the same shade, apply under the eyes close to the lash line, and blend outwards using a small blender brush for a smoky look.
Apply Eye Tint shade #11 (Rose Ashes) to the eyes’ inner corners and blend together with shade #10.
Step 4: Mascara
Apply a few coats of Mascara Eyes To Kill Classico to add definition and volume.
Step 5: Lips
Dab the Lip Power in #109 (Intimate) at the centre of the lips and blend using fingertips or a lip brush, to achieve a soft, tinted colour.

Step 1: Face

Step 3: Eyes
Using the eye tint applicator, apply one layer of Eye Tint shade #11 (Rose Ashes) all over the eyelid and blend the edges using fingertips. Follow with another layer for additional colour payoff.
With the tip of the applicator, apply Eye Tint shade #12 (Gold Ashes) to the eyes’ inner corners and blend with fingertips to add brightness.
Step 4: Mascara
Apply a few coats of Mascara Eyes To Kill Classico to add definition and volume.
Step 5: Lips
Apply the Lip Power in #400 (Four Hundred) to bottom lip first, then smudge the lips together. Define the cupid’s bow with the drop shape of the lipstick and follow the lips’ contour to create the desired shape.
