During his recent visit to Singapore, Eric Antoniotti, international artistic and training director for Clarins, shared his secrets on how to keep your makeup and skin happy—no matter where you are in the world.

On long haul flights

Wondering how to refresh your makeup on a long-haul flight without having to remove or redo your makeup? Here are some tips.

If you aren't the type to go barefaced, opt for a light hydrating foundation like Clarins Skin Illusion Foundation as your base and avoid heavy foundation, which might appear cakey after a long flight. Always use a hydrating moisturiser before applying your foundation.

While in flight, Eric recommends spraying Clarins Fix’ Make-Up to refresh and to give you a boost. This invigorating mist not only helps to set makeup after application to give it a longer lasting hold, but it will also keep your skin moisturised.

On the move

The Clarins makeup collection is all about fun products which are versatile and easy to use. Eric shares his top three makeup must-have for the woman on-the-go.

4 Colour All in One Pen

It's a nifty device that comes with a lipliner and three eyeliner colours—portable, fun, clever, with a travel-ready design. Pop it into your pocket or purse for a quick touch up anytime, anywhere.

Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil

This well-loved tint comes in three different colours and is the perfect lip travel companion. The sheer colour nourishes and enhances lips with high shine. Great for protecting your pout while preventing them from getting chapped in dry climates.

Supra Volume Mascara

This mascara combines volume and lash care to create thick, voluminous lashes. The gentle formula has been enriched with Cassie Flower wax, while Panthenol strengthens and protects. The result is clump-free, long-lasting beautiful lashes in any weather. Go light or build up for dramatic lashes.

In humid and dry climates

For you jet-setters who are constantly dividing your time between beach holidays and ski resorts, here’s what Eric suggests you do to keep your makeup looking perfect through wet or dry climes.

The key is in the base—consider using a different moisturiser for different climates. Try using a lighter texture in a humid country and a creamier texture in a dry country.

Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch 5ml $48.jpgEric also suggests using an oil-free primer like the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch before your foundation of choice. This will help set your foundation and keep your makeup looking perfect even if you’re out in humid weather.

Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base 01.jpg

For maximum hydration in a drier climate, look for products like the Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base with Katafray, a plant from Madagascar. Katafray is used to restore skin’s barrier effect and the production of natural moisturising factors, which are essential for keeping skin hydrated.
