When the pores produce excess sebum, a natural skin oil, the skin becomes oily. It clogs the pores which eventually triggers acne. To help absorb oil and cleanse the pores, use the following:

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 10 drops of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil

Procedure:

  1. Mash the banana in a bowl
  2. Pour the lemon juice and olive oil on the same bowl of mashed banana to create a liquid paste
  3. Apply the liquid paste over the face and allow it to sit for 15 minutes before washing off with warm water

Face mask for dry skin

Dry skin must be moisturised with ingredients that can provide hydrating effects on your complexion.

Ingredients:

  • Half avocado purée
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

Procedure:

  1. Purée half an avocado and mix it with one teaspoon of olive oil
  2. Add one tablespoon of honey (if desired)
  3. Apply the concoction evenly over the face and leave the mask on for five to 20 minutes before washing it off with warm water

Face mask for combination skin

Those who have a complexion that has a combination of dry, normal, and oily areas on the face are known to have combination skin. Soothe the skin and achieve added glow by combining natural ingredients that can gently exfoliate the skin and reduce inflammation.

  • A handful of fresh mint and chamomile

  1. Mix a few tablespoons of plain, full-fat yoghurt with a handful of fresh mint using a food processor and blend until smooth
  2. Apply the paste over the face and leave the mask on for fifteen to 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water

Face mask for sensitive skin

Simple ingredients are key to making an effective face mask to avoid irritating sensitive skin. To be sure, before applying anything on the face, test the ingredient on the side of the forearm.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of black tea
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

Procedure:

  1. Cut the cucumber into thin slices and set aside
  2. Steep one cup of black tea in a pot for five minutes
