The Japanese beauty house introduced its latest product with a musical collaboration and exclusive garden event

The city’s most esteemed beauty aficionados and Clé de Peau Beauté special guests gathered for an enchanting afternoon at Hong Kong Park on June 7. Inspired by the concept of “finding symphony in nature”, the event, entitled La Symphonie de Synactif, was hosted at Pondside restaurant, a fittingly tranquil oasis in the heart of the bustling city.

Highlighting the synergy between the Japanese beauty house’s coveted skincare line-up and its newest Soin Synactif salon treatment, the event immersed guests in a variety of music, nature and sensory experiences.

Set within a garden of purple and pink flowers, the evening offered a multitude of photo opportunities and product demonstrations from Clé de Peau Beauté, with local celebrities and influencers in attendance, including Beatrice Ho, Antonia Li, Emily Lam Ho and her sister Eleanor Lam, joined by musical talents like Ada Pong and Hedy Chan.

Guests mingled over a specially curated pairing of Japanese tea and French dessert canapés that echoed Clé de Peau Beauté’s synergy of French elegance and Japanese skin science. Three elegant tea tasters were served alongside three French pastries, symbolising the six elements that made up the final La Symphonie de Synactif.

Following an interactive “light ceremony” to officially introduce the latest release—an eye mask that forms part of the label’s trailblazing Synactif line—guests experienced a host of educational digital moments telling the story of Synactif.

With every product building upon 40 years of skin cell innovation, Clé de Peau Beauté’s portfolio is made up of Soap to cleanse and purify; the hydrating Lotion; Daytime Moisturizer; Nighttime Moisturizer; Cream to revitalise and reduce the appearance of fine lines; and Eye Cream, a plumping, hydrating product for the delicate under-eye area. Together, the six-step routine supports healthy lymphatic networks within the skin, eliminating impurities and repairing lymphatic functions.

The unique combination of the six at-home products, alongside Synactif in-salon facial experiences that support the brand’s daily routine, come together in a ritual that mirrors the synchronicity of orchestral instruments.

The new Eye Mask fits into that ensemble perfectly. Complementing the Eye Cream to deliver smooth and lifted results, the luxurious double-layered eye mask features two contoured pieces of non-woven fabric infused with golden oyster mushroom extract and Purifying Beautifier, the Synactif range’s superstar ingredient, which helps to enhance the look and condition of the skin.

This idea of harnessing the science found in nature is celebrated throughout the Synactif range. Combining all six steps creates a rejuvenating skincare routine that mimics a home-spa experience, and enhances the skin’s radiance in just ten minutes.

The launch event also featured a special surprise: a live performance by renowned pianist and composer Joyce Cheung, who composed a bespoke musical piece to mark the occasion.

This was a first-of-its-kind collaboration with Cheung, who drew inspiration for La Symphonie de Synactif from the similarities between the restorative moments of peace, and Clé de Peau Beauté’s harmonious offerings. “Right now, I’m using the six Synactif products and it feels like I’m building a new ritual for myself. I see it as an extra moment of self-love every day, a message that’s been really nice to put into music,” she said.

As for how that sentiment translated through the performance, Cheung eschewed a full orchestra for something much more intimate—a six-piece ensemble consisting of flute, violin, cello, piano, bass and guitar, with the flautist providing percussion too. “When I created the piece I was really thinking of the three skincare steps of Clé de Peau Beauté: the process of relaxation, purification and regeneration. So the music’s three movements correlate with those three areas.”

The piece moves from a joyful, light tone for relaxation, to a slightly longer, more solemn phase for purification, and finally, an upbeat movement that nods to the restorative final step.

Exploring the concept of symphony, Cheung shared her own emotive perspective. “To me, symphony means togetherness. From a musical standpoint, and also from my own personal standpoint, I really love the company of others—it’s a luxury and a privilege whenever you have other people listening to your music or playing music with you, because either way they’ve taken the time to understand you and the piece that you [have] created.”
