Burberry has introduced a new member to its perfume collection, with a new spin on the classic My Burberry fragrance. A more sensual romantic scent, My Burberry Black joins the lineup of fragrances inspired by the iconic Heritage Trench Coat, which includes My Burberry Eau de Toilette and My Burberry Eau de Parfum.

While the classic My Burberry scent is described as a grand floral inspired by the scent of a London garden after the rain, My Burberry Black travels back to said London garden amidst a gathering storm. At once provocative and captivating, the updated scent bottles the feeling of the black Burberry trench coat against bare skin. The fragrance evokes heavy rain in contrast with the warm and beguiling flora.

A collaboration between Burberry Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer Christopher Bailey and renowned perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, My Burberry Black is more intense and sensual compared to its predecessors. Starting with a fusion of sun-drenched jasmine and peach nectar as the top and heart notes, the signature rose note at the heart of My Burberry is given a sweet and inviting candied twist, while base notes of rich amber patchouli round off the scent for a deep enchanting finish.

As the new face of My Burberry fragrances, English actress Lily James (of Cinderella and Downton Abbey fame) debuts in her first global advertising campaign with a campaign shot by Mario Testino. She previously starred in The Tale of Thomas Burberry alongside Domhnall Gleeson, Sienna Miller and Dominic West.

My Burberry Black’s rich, amber-coloured bottle calls to mind details of the design of Burberry’s black Heritage Trench Coat. A dark horn-finish cap reflects the distinctive coat buttons, while the hand-tied black English-woven gabardine knot — made in Castleford, Yorkshire — pays homage to the weatherproof fabric invented by the brand’s founder, Thomas Burberry, over a century ago. Just as with the others in the My Burberry collection, customers are able to monogram their My Burberry Black bottle with up to three initials for a personalised touch, available at Burberry.com or selected Burberry stores.

My Burberry Black is available now in the Burberry Beauty Box or on hk.burberry.com.
