Strawberry makeup, glazed donut nails, clean-girl aesthetic? Here’s the face behind the craze. In this article, we take an intimate look at five makeup trends made famous by influencer Hailey Bieber

You may have heard of the phrases ‘strawberry makeup’ and ‘glazed donut nails’ dominating the beauty industry today. Nowadays, scrolling through your social media feed can feel like a jaunt through a pastry shop. But who can blame the face behind the trend with her captivating air and generation-defining glam? These beauty trends only require a few products, proving that low-maintenance makeup is the best way to go about your routine.

In this article, we take a few pages out of Hailey Bieber’s lookbook that establishes her as the ultimate trendsetter of the beauty industry. Her makeup philosophy, we discovered, is summed up by embracing and enhancing your features, not hiding what is already there.

1. Strawberry Makeup

This fresh-faced trend went viral last summer, and for good reason—it’s easy to replicate and packs a fruity punch. According to Bieber, all you need to achieve this look is a light dusting of blush and bronzer on your cheeks and lids. Swipe a bit of highlighter atop your cheekbones and accentuate your pout with a glaze of tinted gloss. Top it off with a sprinkle of faux freckles to pull off that sun-kissed visage.

2. Brushed-up brows

Gone are the days of that structured, boxy pomade look.

Embrace the natural, feathered brow craze simply with a few swipes of clear gel. If you’d like to take it a step further, we’d recommend a laminating appointment with your local brow technician for a more long-term solution.

3. Glazed-donut nails

Bieber has worked with Los Angeles-based manicurist Zola Ganzorigt to create this subtle, pearlescent set. These nails are the ultimate accessory for the perfect mirror selfie.

Go for two light swipes of grey nail polish and add a swatch of shimmery, translucent top coat. Opt for a more rounded almond shape for that simple yet sophisticated look.

4. Slick-backed bun

The clean-girl aesthetic isn't complete without this polished, low-effort updo. This hairstyle can elongate the chin and bring attention to all the angles and edges of your face, giving you that sculpted model-off-duty look.

Gather your hair back with some gel product and boar-bristle brush, and secure tightly with a light spray and a handful of bobby pins.

5. Siren eyes

This sultry successor to the cat-eye can be played with in various ways. It narrows out the corners of the eyes, creating a dramatic flair without being too clown-like or overpowering. The image above showcases Bieber in a liquid liner. This look can be done with an angled eyeliner brush and dark eyeshadow.

A pro-tip is to wet your brush with a setting spray, then slowly drag the product away from the lid, following the upward curve of your lower lash line.
