With the heavy pollution clogging up our pores, here are three Hong Kong facial treatments that will clear up your complexion

1. Lunar28 Brightening Facial at Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong

Treatment: The Lunar28 Brightening Facial utilises London-based skincare label, 111SKIN, which was developed by renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Yannis Alexandrides.

Loved by celebrities including Margot Robbie, Priyanka Chopra and Mary Greenwell, the 111SKIN Celestial Black Diamond Retinol Oil (which contains 1% of retinol, a Vitamin A derivative) to resurface the skin and reduce pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles.

There's even an option to take home a 28-day post-treatment set that will help maintain the facial's effects over time.

Experience: We'd heard that retinol oil could irritate sensitive skin, leading to redness, dryness and iritation, but this facial using 111SKIN was extremely gentle without any side effects. After a relaxing treatment and short slumber, we awoke with a smoother and visibly brighter complexion, which we're sure would only improve with regular use of the retinol oil.

Treatment: Inject some zest into your life with the Citrus Boost Facial at The Oriental Spa. The luxurious spa treatment uses citrus-based products from Spanish skincare brand, Natura Bisse, which naturally exfoliates the skin while keeping it moisturised.

Experience: This facial left us with a positively radiant complexion, and was especially refreshing due to the fresh citrus aromas. The contouring massage techniques used by the therapist helped reduce water retention in the face and the arm massage at the end was a nice touch—something that every keyboard warrior needs after a long week of work.

Price: HK$1,650 on Mondays to Thursdays and HK$1,850 on Fridays to Sundays and public holidays (60 minutes)

3. Signature Gemstone Facial at Elu Spa

Treatment: Elu Spa’s signature Gemstone Facial harnesses the power of all-natural skincare products by organic Hungarian brand, Eminence, paired with crystals to brighten and tighten your skin.

Experience: After a lush deep cleansing followed by a refreshing exfoliation to remove dead skin and brighten your complexion, a rich serum—chosen according to your skin type and skin goals—is applied. Your therapist will then use jade rollers and rose quartz stones to massage the face and improve circulation and collagen production to reduce bloating. This also helps the skin to better absorb the serum.

Warm jade stones are then used to gently massage the face and décolletage for deep relaxation. Though gentle and soothing, this treatment is definitely effective in giving your complexion a much-needed boost.
