Accreditations and awards:

With 97 years of experience, Tanglin Trust School has a history of excellence as Southeast Asia’s leading British International School. It is the only school in Singapore to offer both A Level and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at Sixth Form, letting students choose the pathway best suited for their needs and goals. What sets the institution apart is its stringent accreditation and list of awards, which includes The Early Years Quality Mark for The Infant School, as well as the Best School for a UK Pathway and Best Post-16 Education by WhichSchoolAdvisor Singapore. Tanglin has a consistent track record of students achieving exceptional exam results, and all three schools have been awarded Outstanding—the highest possible grade—with every inspection according to the British Schools Overseas (BSO) framework. As one of the few not-for-profit schools in Singapore, all fees are devoted to providing an exceptional education for students.

Campus and facilities:

Located along Portsdown Road, Tanglin Trust School is approximately 15-minutes' drive from the city centre. The school is positioned within One-North, Singapore’s high technology precinct that’s home to innovation start-ups and research institutes; nestled amid the heritage and lush parks. The school will also be opening the doors to The Tanglin Centenary Building in the next academic year, a new state-of-the-art 11-storey building that will house multiple facilities to benefit the entire Tanglin community: from new infant spaces and music facilities; to a 15m tall bespoke climbing wall made by the Climbing World Championships wall maker, Walltopia and 1,300sqm gymnastics centre. There will also be Institute@Tanglin, a physical 'brain' space that will bring together a range of current and future disciplines, teachers, learners, facilitators and mentors. Inside, key spaces will include a viewing gallery where parents can watch their children train at a new Olympic-length pool; a larger café and additional lounge areas to connect with one another; and—in a first for an international school in Singapore—a new co-working space where parents can work remotely or have short meetings while they wait for their kids.

Competitive advantage:

Tanglin has developed its own unique 3-14 curriculum framework for students, starting from as young as Nursery. As students get older, the school encourages them to choose subjects from different groups so that they have a combination of various subjects in Science, Arts, Humanities and Languages, as well as different disciplines. Students’ exam results have been amongst the highest in Singapore for many years, and significantly above UK averages. Tanglin’s exam results in 2021 were the highest ever. The school’s average IB score was 41, eight points higher than the global average of 33. 100 per cent of Tanglin students scored 35 or more. For A-level, 70 per cent of all grades were an A* or A, compared to 44.8 per cent in England. 83 per cent of our (I)GCSE grades were either A, A* or equivalent, compared to 28.5 per cent in the UK. In addition, Tanglin has a highly experienced career and university counselling team—offering advice to students from Year 9 and up on subject combination choices for entry into university programmes. More than 97 per cent of students moved on to their first or second university of choice. High academic standards are a key driving force, however, equally important, is nurturing students with skills to be life-long learners and dynamic global citizens.
