Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Côte des Blancs; 18 ha of estate vines, 10 of which are in Le Mesnil including the lieu-dit Les Chétillons.
Champagne expert Tyson Stelzer calls Les Chétillons "Le Montrachet of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger." Three 40-70-year-old parcels within the intensely chalky vineyard are fermented separately then carefully blended. Partial malolactic fermentation moderates the extreme uprightness of the base wines.
Entry level Cuvée de Réserve is blended exclusively from top Côte des Blancs villages.

Super chalky with pure lemon and yuzu aromatics packed with nervous energy. Powdery texture and acid sear the palate from the moment of entry, giving a sense of tightly-coiled magnificence. The palate adds moments of salinity and iodine to the nose’s citrus, with a seductive, yeasty waft of biscuits to finish.

The mousse does seem to dissipate somewhat quickly, leaving more of a creamy rather than a fizzy impression.
Gracile, pure and charged.
