Accreditations and awards:

The Integrated International School firmly believes that the traditional “one-size-fits-all” approach to learning isn’t optimal for children. Instead the concept of ‘multiple intelligences matter’, and to cater to that are two teaching approaches for its students aged four to 18-year-old: one for mainstream students who can benefit from a diverse educational experience and supportive environment; while individualised needs are provided to students who require additional resources and learning support to excel in their own ways. IIS’ curriculum accommodates varied learning styles through intimate classroom settings and customised lesson plans to foster individual as well as collective strengths, catering to at least nine intelligences that represent children’s learning aptitudes, according to Howard Gardener, PhD, Profession of Education at Harvard University’s theory of ‘Multiple Intelligences’: Verbal-linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial-visual, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, naturalist and existential. The goal at IIS is to nurture both academic and socio-emotional excellence.

Campus and facilities:

Purpose-built feature rooms including the multi-sensory Ocean Snoezelen room, an indoor occupational therapy gym, private counselling suites, speech therapy suites, an outdoor recreational area, Reggio Emilia Hall and other support rooms and purpose-built play spaces, all of which are designed and fitted to help foster learning and development in their integrated community.

Competitive advantage:

The Integrated International School (IIS) was founded in 2009 by Dr Vanessa von Auer, creator of the successful “Von Auer Collaborative Teaching/Parenting Approach”. As a clinical psychologist, Dr von Auer specialises in supporting children, adolescents and their families. The Von Auer Collaborative Teaching Approach to education ensures that students’ socio-emotional well-being is at the centre of all IIS faculty’s focus. IIS provides a nurturing environment with two educational approaches: mainstream and supported learning. The highly specialised team at the Integrated International School (IIS) strongly upholds the belief that children of all abilities and learning styles deserve a tailored and quality education to reach their own personal level of success. This inclusive school teaches and instils the importance of self-belief, confidence, individuality, and happiness, thus paving the way for students’ journeys to success. The intimate class sizes (1:6 teacher-to-student ratio) allow teachers to provide an individualised learning experience. The school’s on-campus support services include a team of experienced behavioural therapists, counsellors, psychologists, occupational therapists as well as speech and language pathologists. They work closely and collaboratively with teachers to tailor Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) for students. If a student is struggling academically, behaviorally, emotionally, or socially, teachers are trained to identify when a child may need additional support.
