Established in 1960, the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups is the biggest organisation of youth groups in Hong Kong, running more than 25,000 activities each year through 70 service units.

The organisation offers an array of educational and developmental services: there are 22 Youth SPOT learning centres; the Wellness Mind Centre, which offers counselling; and the Youth Crime Prevention Centre, which provides resources for at-risk youth and their families.

The federation is also involved in education through its nurseries, kindergarten and subsidised primary and secondary school, all of which adhere to its vision of holistic education that prioritises healthy cultivation of interests and high quality of life. Other services include career planning, leadership training and a vast volunteer network that connects more than 200,000 youth volunteers with community service opportunities.

Informing the organisation’s activities and offering recommendations to other youth service associations is the Youth IDEAS think tank, which conducts research in areas including youth livelihood and governmental development. Chief executive Carrie Lam is a patron of the organisation, while Rosanna Wong is a senior advisor.
