Every now and then, you hear of the next It place to hold weddings, but would those rumblings alone be a good reason to hold your event of a lifetime there, too? Perhaps not. Couples should consider a host of things when deciding on a venue, one of which is location and accessibility—public transportation and spacious car park facilities are key factors to take note of.

Situated in the City Hall area, at the confluence of Singapore’s central business districts, world-class shopping and entertainment, the country’s tallest hotel, Fairmont Singapore has been a choice venue for wedding couples since it first opened its doors in 1986. Over 30 years later, the luxury hotel hasn’t slowed down as it continues to build its long archive of memorable unions.

Apart from its strategic location, wedding couples choose the hotel for its service excellence and spacious grounds. It also offers flexibility in terms of the scale of your event—whether you are planning an intimate solemnisation ceremony or wedding lunch for 150 guests or you plan to host more than 30 tables of family and friends, there’s a suitable venue. The biggest ballroom can accommodate up to 2,000 guests. All the ballrooms are also pillarless and boast high ceilings, promising an element of grandeur at your celebration.

According to the hotel’s Romance Team, comprising senior managers Dannis Yeo, Wendy Ho and Debbie Lim, there are several things wedding couples-to-be should keep in mind when planning their big day: “Have a thorough understanding of the wedding packages before committing to one, and do not feel pressured to sign any package, be it for photography or otherwise. And consider other miscellaneous items that may incur additional costs.”

The wedding dinner packages at Fairmont Singapore come with an enticing list of perks including free-flow beer and a dedicated wedding concierge during your event. A highlight is the plush bridal suite; here, you and your other half can privately toast your first moments as husband and wife against a backdrop of the city skyline and bay. Fairmont Singapore also provides outdoor catering options should you wish to hold a more intimate celebration in your home or another venue close to your heart. All the ingredients that go into a memorable fete, from a buffet spread by the hotel’s chefs who are equally skilled in local specialities and international classics to a bespoke three-tiered cake, pre-event cocktails and food bars, can be arranged as you wish.

Having been in the weddings scene for over three decades means that the hotel has connections to all the top-in-class vendors you’ll need for your big day from bridal gowns and bespoke jewellery to themed floral decorations, unique favours, emcee and entertainment as well as photography and videography. Not only will they be able to introduce you to the right people, you will also be offered preferential rates.

At Fairmont Singapore, you can be assured of a beautiful beginning to your new chapter in life.

We were in good hands from the start of our preparations to the grand finale!

“Our close friends held their Wedding ceremony in the Stamford Ballroom at Fairmont Singapore two years ago and recommended the venue to us. Like them, we found it easy to work with the hotel’s Romance Team, who was always flexible when it came to meeting our needs. We had our wedding solemnisation ceremony and tea ceremony for 460 guests in August 2017 at the hotel. We chose a colour theme of blush, gold and grey, with rustic accents, which was conveyed through fairy lights, mason jars, wooden crates and plenty of flowers. Guests commended the excellent food as well as the attentive service rendered by the banquet team and our wedding concierge. There were too many memorable moments to list but guests might say it was the dynamic Bhangra troupe performance. For us, the sweetest thing was exchanging vows in an intimate setting with only our family and loved ones. We are very grateful to have had a passionate wedding team journey with us every step of the way.”
