What

A grower estate based at the 1,000 year-old Cluniac priory Domaine Sainte Eulalie, run since 2000 by Edouard Duval of EMW Fine Wines, son of Jean Charles Duval-Leroy

Where

Côte des Bar.

Why

Edouard Duval has been involved with his family’s champagne house from a young age. He decided to dedicate himself to producing a tiny-production, hand-crafted champagne at an estate purchased by the family in the 1950s. The wines all have a delicacy and purity of flavor, with the Saignée exemplifying the light-touch style. Only 3,300 bottles were produced.

What else

All the grapes are sustainably farmed and VDC certified.

Tasting Notes

A lacy strawberry pinkness overlays fresh green apples and white blossoms. The palate is elegantly framed, precise and clean with crisp acidity and powdery texture with no extra slip. Over time a citronella greenness emerges, lending an incisive cut to the nose that punches through other richer flavours.

Try It With
