A staggering 36.7 million people currently suffer from HIV/Aids, about 2.1 million of them children. The Chi Heng Foundation, founded by Chung To in 1998, is on a mission to educate, facilitate and assist minors in Hong Kong and Mainland China affected by the disease, and to reduce social stigma through educational talks and engagement.

The foundation uses its donations to provide education and living expenses for children affected by Aids, with a focus on community integration. It is also known for its innovative educational programmes, such as organising companionship learning for rural children over a distance-learning platform.

“Chi Heng” means “wisdom in action,” and with ambassadors such as Cathy Lee, five regional branches and 23,000 children and adults helped since its foundation, Chi Heng is fast creating a legacy that is altering the way we respond to HIV.
