ROSE Foundation (ROSE) is an approved tax-exempt non-profit organisation established in 2019 and based in Kuala Lumpur with a vision for a cervical cancer-free future for women in Malaysia. ROSE’s mission is to deliver HPV PCR self-sampling cervical screening to women in Malaysia using Program ROSE (acronym for Removing Obstacles to cervical ScrEening) while prioritising the underprivileged and underserved women communities.

Program ROSE is recognised globally as being a community-centric approach that enables and empowers women to perform their own cervical screening without the need for healthcare professionals or in hospital settings. The ROSE approach integrates self-sampling, validated HPV PCR testing, and a mobile-based digital health platform that facilitates seamless follow-ups and linkage to care for treatment if required, as well as interlinks education, community engagement, and advocacy for cervical cancer elimination amongst public and healthcare professionals.

ROSE Foundation was awarded the prestigious global UNIVANTS of Healthcare Excellence Award 2022, an international awards programme that recognises teams that collaborate across disciplines and transform healthcare delivery and ultimately, the lives of patients, for its outstanding achievements from problem-solving with an innovative approach to driving the transformation of healthcare delivery with measurable impact on patients, clinician, and the entire health systems.

To date, over 25,000 Malaysian women, most of whom are from the underserved and underscreened population have been screened using Program ROSE and over 200 potential cervical cases have been identified and linked for treatment at over 30 government hospitals.
