In the company of esteemed PRUPremier clients and advisors, Pru Life UK recalled its legacy of trust and excellence to signal its resolute commitments while looking ahead
Longevity unequivocally lies at the heart of Pru Life UK, which has emerged as one of the country’s leading life insurance firms over the course of its 27-year history. Its parent company, Prudential plc, boasts a heritage that reaches even further back. This year marks the esteemed financial services titan’s 175th anniversary, commemorating its pivotal role in safeguarding the future of countless individuals and businesses alike.
Befitting this legacy of excellence, Pru Life UK and its staunch partners from the British Embassy Manila organised an intimate celebration last August 18, 2023. His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Philippines, Laure Beaufils, generously opened up her marvellous abode for the occasion, welcoming a pool of Pru Life UK’s high-value clients, executives, and financial advisors.

Invited guests belonged to the insurance company’s PRUPremier Club, an exclusive customer circle receiving the PRU signature experience. As they mingled, reconnected, and forged new connections over free-flowing wine and canapés, the evening was a testament to the strong enduring bonds that Pru Life UK has successfully cultivated throughout its journey.
Pru Life UK president and chief executive officer, Eng Teng Wong, echoed this in his toast, saying, “Tonight is really a special night only made possible by the longstanding friendship and love between the British Embassy Manila and Pru Life UK. We wouldn't have done this without you.”

Expressing similar praise in her opening speech, His Majesty’s Ambassador shared, “I'm constantly struck by [Pru Life UK’s] passion for their work, in terms of wanting to find innovative solutions to improve the lives of individuals and families across the Philippines.” She went on to highlight the fruits of their collaboration over the years, citing the life insurer’s support for the Chevening scholarship programme in particular.
Aimed at developing future leaders professionally and academically, a Chevening scholarship enables students from all over the world to pursue one-year master's degrees in the UK. Pru Life UK has sponsored five Filipinos thus far. His Majesty’s Ambassador added, “As you can imagine, it doesn't come cheap. But Pru Life UK has invested in the talent of this country, invested in the future and capabilities of these students who will come back and contribute to economic and social development in the country, so those five scholarships will change lives.”
Last but not least, Pru Life UK general manager and chief commercial officer, Gilbert Simpao, reiterated their unwavering commitment to clients and employees through PRUPremier-exclusive events like this one. Indeed, the celebration last August 18 was a reminder that, beyond numbers and policies, it's the relationships and trust that form the bedrock of the life insurer’s success.
With this as its guiding light, Pru Life UK is poised to continue its journey as a compelling force in the business, protecting every life and every future for generations to come.
