Laurinda Ho is shaping her own entrepreneurial path, rooted in family values and driven by purpose. Her journey is filled with resilience and reflects the evolving face of wealth and leadership in Asia

As a daughter of the late tycoon Stanley Ho, Laurinda Ho understands the weight of legacy. But rather than merely inheriting it, she’s reshaping it with purpose, innovation and a deep sense of responsibility. From hospitality to philanthropy, Ho’s journey reflects a new generation of entrepreneurs who are building businesses on their own terms while honouring the foundations laid before them.

“I’ve always believed that heritage sets the foundation but innovation builds the future,” she says. “Growing up in a family with a strong legacy taught me the value of discipline and responsibility—but I also knew I wanted to create something that reflects who I am.”

That ethos is embedded in each of her ventures, from the Jiu-Wu Beef Noodles restaurants she opened in Hong Kong to her philanthropic initiative Smile With Us HK, founded in 2017. “It started as a simple idea—to bring a more modern, engaging approach to philanthropy. But over time, it became a platform that connects people through compassion and action.”

Her entrepreneurial path hasn’t been without challenge. The closure of one of her restaurants during the Covid-19 pandemic was a turning point. “It was emotionally difficult—I had poured so much heart into it. But in that moment, my family became my anchor. They reminded me that setbacks are part of growth and that resilience comes from knowing you’re not alone.”

Ho’s story echoes the insights in Family-owned Businesses in Asia: Harmony Through Succession Planning 2025, HSBC Private Bank’s latest Asia multigenerational wealth report exploring how the region’s family-owned businesses are navigating change. Like many of her peers, Ho sees her family not as a constraint but as a source of strength. “That balance—between carrying forward a legacy and shaping your own path—is delicate but powerful.”
