The newly released Hong Kong’s Richest 2021 by Forbes has unveiled that Li Ka-shing has reclaimed his title of the city’s richest man—see who else made the top 10 below:
On February 24, 2021, Forbes released its annual rich list for the city, detailing the who's who of the city's billionaires. With the world a year into the Covid-19 pandemic, although the total wealth of Hong Kong's richest rose overall, the report reveals that more than half of the 27 listees saw their fortunes decline this year––mainly down to much of Hong Kong's wealth being concentrated in real estate, a sector that has been hard hit by the pandemic.
Another direct result of Covid-19 sees Li Ka-shing reclaim his prime position as the city’s richest this year, after a year at number two in 2020, with a 20% jump in his fortune to $35.4 billion, thanks to his stake in Zoom. Read on to discover who else currently sits in the top 10 richest in Hong Kong.
