1. Save The Laguna Pitbulls

I've always had a soft spot for pitbulls. These adorable pups can often be misunderstood; thought to be dangerous, most of them are quite sweet and loyal — just like any other dog! See for yourself how amazing a pitbull can be with Save The Laguna Pitbulls.

An initiative by CARA Welfare Philippines, Save The Laguna Pitbulls brings abused animals (from illegal dogfighting syndicates) into the loving arms of families around the Philippines. Volunteer, adopt, or donate to the cause today!

2. Adopt.ph

Adopt.ph isn't a shelter per se, but they're a great resource to meet potential pets. They post photos of animals from different shelters around the Philippines to help redirect potential pet parents. At the moment, many of the adorable animals they've been posting are dogs, but keep your eyes peeled for updates on feline friends too. The best part? Many of the animals they feature are based outside of Metro Manila so people from Aklan, Cebu, Batangas, and more have options as well!

3. The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)

As one of the most well-known animal NGO's in the Philippines, PAWS has made a very clear mission of saving and defending animals. Of their many initiatives, one of the most successful is uniting loving pet owners to their new best friend. For your safety during the quarantine, PAWS has also updated its online adoption process for a quick and easy experience. Now there's no excuse not to adopt!

5. Happy Animals Club

Happy Animals Club has a wide roster of cats and dogs ready to become your next companion. Because they are a no-kill shelter, many of these sweethearts have been with them for a long time. But while the animals have taken on really well with visitors and volunteers, nothing would be better than for them to have a stable and loving home. Check out each individual profile at the Happy Animals Club website for more adorable pictures and personality traits of each individual.

6. Hound Haven

You know you're in good hands with a K-9 dog. They're smart, loyal, and highly trained. But not only that, they've also spent their whole lives serving and protecting people around the country (some of them have even worked in Marawi!). Now retired, these K-9's (mostly German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, and Labradors) are looking for a new home where they can relax a little with a loving family. For those who are worried, don't be: Hound Haven ensures that these dogs are sweet and docile and will make a perfect addition to your family.

7. Philippine Animal Rescue Team (PART)

One of the best things about the Philippine Animal Rescue Team (PART) is that they're dedicated to saving all types of animals. If you're not into cats or dogs, or if you simply have the space and resources for them, try looking into rehoming PART's pigs, turtles, horses, or turkeys! They're just as deserving of a happy family as the foundation's super cute cats and dogs (who are also available for adoption!).
