However, for now, Luisa has her hands full with her responsibilities as Miss Earth Indonesia 2016. She currently serves as a moderator and Master of Ceremonies at events and is in discussions about ecofriendly programmes with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. Amid her activities, she is also equipping herself with public speaking skills.  

In terms of contributing to the country, Luisa is travelling much more than she thought she would. She is also involved in a campaign called #indonesiaecomovement, which will be launched in 2017 to inspire and empower the younger generation to contribute towards a greener Indonesia.

“In my opinion, the real answers lie with humanity,” she says. “So, if I had the power to change one thing in this world, it would be to develop compassion in all of us towards Mother Earth. The problem is in each individual and unless we develop an initiative to change, along with strict environmental laws imposed by the government, we will never be able to contribute our part,” explains Luisa.

Brains, beauty and behaviour aptly define Luisa: the three “B”s that the Miss Earth Indonesia pageant is all about. And to fulfill her duties as the face of Miss Earth Indonesia 2016, Luisa is determined to set a good example and be a positive influence in order to help the country work towards the mission and vision of a having a better environment.

“Last, but not least, as a woman, we need to learn to be humble and down to earth. That is the secret to being a successful woman— dream big, work hard and stay humble,” she concludes.
