The social service agency aims to raise $200,000 through the gala to fund preventative drug education, rehabilitation and reintegration programmes
The inaugural Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (Sana) “Rise Up” gala will take place on Friday, June 28 this year at The Fullerton Hotel, where President Tharman Shanmugaratnam will be the esteemed guest of honour. “Rise Up” reflects the association’s mission of encouraging those in recovery to strengthen their resolve to stay drug-free and uplift their lives.
Established in 1972, Sana complements the Central Narcotics Bureau’s (CNB) work in educating the public on the dangers of drug abuse. The social service agency offers social support and holistic counselling to clients recovering from drug addiction, as well as preventive drug education at schools and welfare homes.

Over 2000 individuals benefit from Sana’s programmes yearly, which are supported by donations from organisations and the public through fund-raising activities and government grants. Through the “Rise Up” gala, Sana aims to raise at least SG$200,000, enabling the association to continue developing and improving its services to provide holistic care for its beneficiaries.
