The Estée Lauder Companies raised PhP9.65 million during its annual Pink Ball, funding breast cancer screenings for underserved women through St Luke’s Medical Center Foundation
In a hall usually reserved for celebrations at Shangri-La The Fort Manila, an urgent cause spearheaded by The Estée Lauder Companies once again took the spotlight. The focus was clear at this year’s Pink Ball—to raise funds to fight breast cancer.
The event eventually raised PhP9.65 million, with proceeds going toward free breast cancer screenings for underserved women in Metro Manila, in partnership with St Luke’s Medical Center Foundation.
Breast cancer remains a serious concern in the country, where many women still lack access to early diagnosis. Sharyn Wong, country general manager of The Estée Lauder Companies Philippines, emphasised the importance of early detection, noting that delays in diagnosis often lead to fatal outcomes.
“The total amount raised was beyond our expectations,” says Wong. “Too often, women lose their lives because they are not diagnosed early enough. The funds raised will make a tangible difference, expanding access to the screenings that can save lives.” Dr Benjamin SA Campomanes, president of St Luke’s Medical Center Foundation, adds: “This partnership not only helps in detecting breast cancer but ensures women receive the treatment and support they need.”

The fundraising event brought together influential figures from fashion, business, and philanthropy. With the support of event organisers such as Kaye Tinga, Tessa Prieto, and Tim Yap, the evening was a showcase of generosity.
Noteworthy highlights of the Pink Ball included a live auction featuring coveted items from the world of luxury and art. Works by celebrated artists Katrina Cuenca, Kenneth Montegrande, and Carlo Tanseco were among the key pieces up for bidding, alongside a rare Jewelmer pearl strand and exclusive travel packages from Shangri-La, Philippine Airlines, and Sunlight Ecotourism Resort.

Entertainment at the Pink Ball, provided by The Opera Belles, Carla Guevara Laforteza, and the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, lent a fitting sense of gravitas to the evening. In a touching moment, Anya Lagman performed Together as One, a song she composed specifically for the event, aligning with this year’s campaign theme: “Beautifully United to Help End Breast Cancer.”

Since its inception in 1992, The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign has raised more than US$131 million globally, funding vital research and expanding access to medical care. The PhP9.65 million raised this year will undoubtedly further that mission in the Philippines, giving underserved women a fighting chance in the battle against breast cancer.
The evening was proof of the power of collective action—showing that when communities unite for a cause, the impact can be far-reaching.
