As Lucas Lorenzo steps into the CEO position of RestaurantConcepts Group, Inc. (RCGI), we take a closer look at his journey and vision for the future of the company

The restaurant world is as much about passion as it is about food, and no one embodies this sentiment better than Lucas, the new CEO of RestaurantConcepts Group, Inc. (RCGI).
From equestrian to CEO, Lucas Lorenzo, a man of many talents takes on a new leadership role at the family business. In a sit-down with Lucas, Tatler finds out how Lucas is ready to stir things up and serve a new chapter in RCGI's story.

“My vision for RCGI is one of continued growth, innovation, and excellence…” Stepping into the role once held by his father, Lucas is ready to lead RCGI into a new era, blending the wisdom of the past with innovative ideas for the future. “By staying true to our core values and embracing change, I am confident that we can achieve our goals and continue to delight guests with unforgettable culinary experiences for years to come,” says Lucas.
Lucas’s journey with RCGI began long before he assumed the title of CEO. Some of his earliest memories involve visiting the flagship restaurant with his father, who owned a chain of casual dining establishments in the early 2000s. "I remember the bustling atmosphere, the delicious aromas wafting from the kitchen, and the sense of pride my father exuded as he spoke with the staff and greeted customers," Lucas recalls. This environment, rich with the sounds and scents of a thriving restaurant, left a lasting impression on him.

Throughout his time at RCGI, Lucas had the privilege of learning from some of the best in the industry, including his father. This mentorship was crucial in developing his leadership style, which emphasises integrity, hard work, and innovation. Lucas acknowledges the immense support he received from his family, describing their belief in his abilities as a cornerstone of his confidence and drive.
"My family has been a constant source of support and encouragement," he shares. "From my parents' unwavering belief in my abilities to my siblings' willingness to pitch in whenever needed, their support has been invaluable." This familial support and his professional development at RCGI have equipped Lucas with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead the company.

One of the biggest challenges Lucas sees for RCGI is the rapidly evolving landscape of the food and beverage industry. To address this, he plans to stay ahead of trends, foster innovation, enhance operational efficiency, prioritise sustainability, and invest in talent development. Despite these challenges, Lucas finds immense reward in the positive impact RCGI has on its guests and team members. "Seeing the joy on a customer's face as they savour a delicious meal or hearing appreciation from a team member who feels valued is incredibly fulfilling," he shares. With plans set in motion for brands like Barcino, Bluesmith, Meat Depot, and Single Origin, we’re excited to see his vision.

The values and principles instilled by Lucas’s father are deeply embedded in RCGI’s culture. Integrity, quality, innovation, and a customer-centric approach are the cornerstones of Lucas’s leadership philosophy. While he is committed to upholding these values, he also recognises the need to stay relevant in an ever-changing industry.
As a visionary leader, Lucas is committed to setting clear goals and inspiring others to reach their full potential. "I believe in dreaming big and challenging the status quo," he says. By articulating a compelling vision for the future and rallying the team, Lucas hopes to motivate others to embrace change and grab opportunities when they can.
